2015-16 School Year Starts Before Labor Day and at a New Time
The first day of school will be Monday, August 31, 2015. Stonewall Jackson High School will have also have a new start time of 7:30 AM and dismissal will be at 2:10 PM. The 2015-16 caleandar features a full two-week winter break and a scheduled last day of school for students on Friday, June 17, 2016. Click here to view the 2015-16 school calendar.
PWCS-TV Airing of Graduation
PWCS-TV (Comcast Channel 18 and Verizon FiOS Channel 36) will air most PWCS 2015 high school graduation ceremonies during the summer months. These airings give graduates, friends, and families a second opportunity to view the big event from the comfort of their own home. Airings of the SJHS graduation will take place at 5:30 p.m. on July 13 & July 17 and will also be available via Video On Demand after the first listed airing date. Click here and scroll through the episodes to find the graduation ceremony you are interested in viewing.
Summer Assignments
The 2015 reading lists and summer assignments for all grades are posted on the Summer Assignments webpage, also accessible under the "For Students & Parents" menu to the left.† Any summer assignments will be added as they become available.
Driver Education & DEC-1 Cards
Students who wish to obtain their TDL-180 Day license with an eligibility date over the summer will need to complete all requirements and turn in required documentation to Ms. Ponte by the end of the school year. Students who do not complete the requirements prior to the end of the school year must wait until the following school year to receive the TDL-180 Day license. Please be advised that TDL-180 day licenses WILL NOT be issued during the summer.

Attention Driverís Education students:†DEC-1 cards verify the completion of the classroom portion of the Driverís Education.†Please be advised that DEC-1 cards WILL NOT be distributed during the summer.
Jim Podlesni Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Jim Podlesni Memorial Scholarship Fund has recently been created for a highly qualified math student †at SJHS in Jim Podlesni's name for the 2015-2016 school year. Jim retired from SJHS and worked at SJHS as a math teacher for many years. He died suddenly a few weeks ago from a massive heart attack at the age of 68. Both of his children, Ted and Julie are graduates of SJHS. If you wish donate to this scholarship fund, donations can be mailed to: Stonewall Jackson High School,†c/o Cindy Persing,†8820 Rixlew Lane ,†Manssas, VA 20109. Please designate the "Jim Podlesni memorial scholarship" on the check. Thank you!
